How to alter formatting on text on stacked column charts

Is there a way to remove the white highlight around the numbers on my bar chart? It is making the number clarity undesirable.

Checkout highcharts-text-outline
in tspan attribute it uses fill (255,255,255)

Hi Brett,

OutSystems use the Highcharts library, so you can verifiy on the highcharts edit, reproduce your chart and use the Inspector from the Google Chrome, for example, to get the properties and settings value used to format the chart.

Finally, you can get the JSON in Custom Code and use on the AdvancedFormat Propertie in the OutSystems.

I hope that help you,

Regards,

Leandro.

I am not sure where to find the tspan attribute. Where would that be located?

Hey Leandro,

I am using the advanced properties to assign my colors for this chart. Would there be another way to edit these outlines and remove them?

Hi Brett,

I found the textOutline propertie of dataLabels:

Solution

In the preparation, use the action AdvancedFormat_Init, copy the JSON generated in the editor.highcharts.com and paste in the Action HighChartsJSON propertie.

Take a look at the oml attached.

Best regards,

Leandro.

I am unable to open your oml as I am working on OutSystems10. I also don't have access to Chrome on my work laptop. Is there another way to get the CVS on my table to find out the JSON of my chart?

Hi Brett,

You can use the demo on http://editor.highcharts.com/full.html to configure you chart like you want and so copy the JSON to AdvanceFormat_Init.

Put some data

Choose a template:

Customize your chart

Finally, in the Preview Options you will find the JSON

Maybe, this way will help you.

In Advanced Tab, you can tool browse the chart structures more easy.

When I try and paste this code into the Advanced Format expression editor that is in my preview option

{
  "title": {
    "text": "Total Requests By Month"
  },
  "subtitle": {
    "text": "My Untitled Chart"
  },
  "exporting": {},
  "series": [],
  "yAxis": {
    "title": {},
    "labels": {}
  },
  "chart": {
    "type": "column",
    "polar": false,
    "borderColor": "#ffebee"
  },
  "plotOptions": {
    "series": {
      "stacking": "normal",
      "dataLabels": {
        "style": {
          "color": "contrast",
          "fontSize": "11px",
          "fontWeight": "bold",
          "textOutline": "0"
        }
      }
    }
  },
  "legend": {},
  "tooltip": {},
  "lang": {},
  "credits": {},
  "xAxis": {
    "title": {},
    "labels": {}
  },
  "colors": [
    "#00677f",
    "#9e9e9e",
    "#a6cad8"
  ]
}

I get an "Unexpected '(' in expression. I am not sure where I need to fix that though.

Replace all " by ' and put all string inside " "
