Identitier

How to handle condition when an entity "Identifier" can not be found, null or invalid ?

Example,
-when making a query that takes an input parameter entity "Identifier", and the provided identifier can not be found, null or invalid.
-When using GET<Entity> and the input parameter entity "Identifier", and the provided identifier can not be found, null or invalid.

etc...
Handling "Identifier" not found in query, with an "If" condition

Get<ENTITY>ByCode.List.Current.<ENTITY>.Code = <null>

how would you specify this <null> value?

Hello Robert,

To check if the input parameter 'identifier' is null you can use a if statement with the condition: isnullidenitifier(). This is a build in function (in the expression editior write isnull and press ctr enter you see the option in a list). From here you can handle it further (with an assign or feedback message).

If you use the get <entitiy> function and the input idenitifier is null you get an empty record. So doing this you can check the get function if it returns a empty record or not.

Hope this was usefull?

Hi Evert

"press ctr enter you see the option in a list"

Unable to find function in list, isnullidenitifier() or isnull()

which sub category is it under?

Hi,

I always use the following:
Integer: Get<ENTITY>ByCode.List.Current.<ENTITY>.Code = NullIdentifier()
Text: Get<ENTITY>ByCode.List.Current.<ENTITY>.Code = NullTextIdentifier()

I also don't know any function that starts with IsNull...

kind regards,

Remco Dekkinga
Hello Roberto,

I've made a mistake, the function is how remco descriped it. NullIdentifier() so no 'is' before it.

So you can write null and then press crt enter.

Kind Regards,
Evert
