Launching the new Associate Reactive Web Developer Certification!

Hey everyone,

We hope you are all safe in the midst of the pandemic we’re all facing at this time.

At OutSystems, we are now all working from home, and over the last couple of weeks on getting this new certification out too!

So, we are pleased to announce the launch of the new Associate Reactive Web Certification exam!

Who is it for?

This certification is aimed at web developers that are new to OutSystems, so there are no prerequisites.

If you are already a certified Associate Mobile Developer, we recommend that you don’t take this new certification at this time. In the near future, we will be adapting the Reactive Web and the Mobile training and certification paths, to the great new developments in our product. We will keep you posted, as there will soon be more news on this.

What topics will you find on this new certification?

  • Reactive Web in OutSystems
  • Data Modeling
  • Fetching Data
  • Logic
  • UI Design
  • Architecture & Security

How can you get ready?

You can attend the Reactive Web Developer Boot Camp, a face-to-face group training experience of 5 days with one of our awesome trainers, or you can take the free online guided path, available anytime and anywhere.

Finally, how can you get it?

Go to our Certification Page and register for the exam.

Any questions? Feel free to find your answers on our Learn Page.

Good to know :).

Great news!

Thanks for sharing

Hi,

This is excellent news, not least because reactive applications are increasingly being developed these days.

Just a few questions:
Does the same advice apply to those who make the reactive associate for those who want to make the mobile next (wait for news)?
And how long (more or less) do you mean in the "near future"? I ask this because, in the professional context, for many of us, despite having the associate mobile developer, it makes perfect sense to obtain the associate reactive developer.

Thank you for your time.

Best regards,

Ricardo M Pereira

Hi Ricardo,

Thanks for your questions.

In the first weeks of April we expect to have news about the Reactive Web and Mobile certification paths, as most topics are similar, and we're following the expected developments/roadmap of our product.

Best regards,
Manuel

Hi Manuel,

Thanks for you quick answer!

Hi Manuel,

I plan to take this certification. I just noticed that the Reactive Web Guided Path Online Training is just 11 hours--much shorter than the Traditional Web Path. Do I need to finish the traditional web path before the reactive web path before taking the Exam, or will the Reactive Web Path alone suffice?

Thanks,

Harley

Hi Harley,

Thanks for your question.

Studying and finishing the Reactive Web path will be enough.

Great news!

Thank you for sharing this info

Hi!

Will there be the reactive developer second certification at some point?

Hi,

What do you mean with "second certification"? Professional level?

If it's that the case, so far as I know, you will have in a near future, more specializations (already have one, mobile) and, when you have all specializations (not mobile, the new ones), you obtain the professional reactive certification.

If you obtain the mobile specialization and the others new specializations, you obtain the professional mobile certification.

I believe that is this.

Hope this can help.

Best regards,

Ricardo M Pereira

Hi
Thanks!

For Traditional web developer there are three certification levels, Associate, Professional and Expert. My intention was to ask if there will be Professional and Expert certificates in Reactive also at some point. And maybe learning paths also for these.

Jussi

Hi Jussi,

Yes, we will have more certifications levels for Reactive and Mobile development. Like Ricardo said, the Professional level will consist of several Specialization exams, in different areas of expertise in OutSystems. When you get the required specializations, automatically you will become a Professional Developer in Reactive or Mobile (depending on the path you go for).

The Mobile Developer Specialization was the first one being released, and will be one of the required specializations to become a Professional Mobile Developer.

There are more on the way, with the Architecture Specialization being released really soon, still in 2020, which will be a required specialization for becoming Professional Reactive Web or Professional Mobile Developer. So, basically it will be a requirement in both paths.

After these two, we are just 2 more specializations away from finishing the requirements to close both Professional (Reactive Web and Mobile) levels.

In 2021and beyond we will expand the certification journey in 2 ways:

  • Expand each certification path to higher levels of expertise (Reactive Web Developer, Mobile Developer, Tech Lead, ...).
  • Create more certification paths for other roles, starting really soon with the Platform Ops Engineer and Architect.

So, you can expect a lot of news coming soon. Stay tuned :)

Thanks Ricardo and Jorge. That sounds good, learning is always great!
