COVID-19 Community Response Update - March 26

Hello Community!

Another day, another idea selected. The week is almost over and we’re still going full steam ahead. Below you can find a quick update on the status of the COVID-19 Community Response Program.

Project #8

This idea is an app that gathers anonymous data from citizens, then leverages that data to provide estimated, real-time information about the spread of the coronavirus for researchers and authorities. It will enable new learning about the coronavirus and gather daily health status from each citizen (including test results) with easy status and symptom selections. Cooperation with medical expert advisors has already been secured.

As a reminder, here’s the project selection criteria:

  • Potential impact as measured by total population helped

  • Technical feasibility of using the OutSystems platform

  • Project team commitment to build and run the project

  • Availability of relevant subject matter experts in the team

Additionally we’ve launched two of the apps so far! vent2life allows hospitals to report problems and malfunctions with ventilators and immediately get linked to technicians with the right expertise to solve the issues (read more in this blog post); and Todos por Um, that connects doctors and nurses to people at home, to help provide the right diagnosis and useful answers, avoiding unnecessary hospital visits.

Congrats for the initiative and I think is already proving to be a success.
