How to access a specific application with an alternate URL?

normally I would access my application via

https://<environment-name>/module where <environment-name> is something like myCompany.outsystemcloud.com

Following

 https://success.outsystems.com/Support/Enterprise_Customers/Maintenance_and_Operations/OutSystems_Platform_SEO_Friendly_URLs

I tried to create a Site URL: www.module.com

I cant seem to access the module via www.module.com. Did I misunderstand the usecase of the above article? How can I obtain the desired result?

Thank you for your help.

Can you tell us a bit more about your configuration?

  • Did you make a CName record in the DNS that points to the correct endpoint of OutSystems?
  • How does your SOE configuration look like?
  • Do you use SSL to connect and if so, did you import and bind the correct certificate to the website?

Kind regards,

Vincent Koning

1) No I only just started and tried the SEO URL since that was the thing I found when looking for "how to specify a domain name in OutSystems".

2) See attached png. That is the only configuration for this platform.

3) When I test the application the connection is established via https, so there should be a certificate. On the other hand I did not take any steps to apply a specific certificate to the application. The administration part doesn't show any certificates.

Solution

Hi Philipp,

In your situation step 1 and 3 are mandatory. If you don't get this in place then it will not work. Fix this first and if this then doesn't solve your issue please let us know.

Kind regards,

Vincent
