Performance Counters thread is not running.

While deploying, I'm getting "Performance Counters thread is not running."

Has anyone had this same issue?

...could it be that the "WMI Performance Adapter" Service is disabled in the server machine?

If it is, try to access the Event log of the machine, and see if there's anything noteworthy being logged there when you deploy.

Other than that, no other clue at first sight to get you started.

Seems the Log Service has generated an unexpected error.
(Don't you love that term; I never heard of an "Expected error")

The ASPNET_WP.EXE has also generated an error.

The WMI Performance adapter has never been enabled; should it be?
(The system has worked before without any problems)
Hi all

I have been following up with Eric on this problem, and we concluded that the problem was due to an internal configuration of Service Center having a wrong value.

In case anyone runs into this problem, please contact for instructions to fix it.
