Database Catalog Option missing in Service Center

Hi, i have an on premise installation (11.8.0) and i want to activate multiple database catalogs.

https://success.outsystems.com/Support/Enterprise_Customers/Maintenance_and_Operations/Multiple_Database_Catalogs_and_Schemas

According to this documentation there should be an option to set database catalogs but in my service center this option is not present.

Does anyone know where i can find the database catalog option in outsystems 11

Hi Bas,

Can you access the Licensing menu and check whether it is a licensed feature in your environment? I’m not sure if it licensed for every On-Premises infrastructure.

Nordin

 Hi Nordin,

According to the license it should be unlimited.

(See my attached screenshot)

Bas

Hi Bas,

Then I guess it has to do with permissions. The following is mentioned in the release notes of Platform Server version 11.8.0:

  • Corrected the permissions for DBConnections and DBCatalogs screens so they can be accessed with the same permission level, i.e, "Monitor and Reference Applications" or higher. (RLIT-2977)

Make sure you have the right permission level set for your IT user in LifeTime.

Nordin

According to lifetime, my user has the administrator role which has he following permissions:

Solution

I found the solution:

The database catalog page is available but not in the menu for some reason:

https://<environmenturl>/servicecenter/DatabaseCatalog_List.aspx gives the correct screen.

I will send a support ticket to OutSystems for this bug.

edit: fixed url typo

Solution

Hi Bas,

It is indeed strange that you are missing the menu item, while you can access the screen directly.

And don't you mean you can access the screen via Service Center: https://<environmenturl>/ServiceCenter/DatabaseCatalog_List.aspx?

Nordin

When i go to that URL directly, i can access the options for database catalogs. So the issue here seems to be that it is missing in the Service Center menu.

Only the URL in your post marked as solution says the DatabaseCatalog_List screen exists in the LifeTime application. I think you meant to say Service Center.

Maybe you can correct that.

Thanks,

Nordin

Strange!

I also have Multiple Database catalogs as unlimited in one of our infra. However, neither it is in the Menu options, nor navigating the direct URL (as mentioned by Bas) worked for me.

You are totally right, sorry for the confusion. I changed it in my post.

I made a mistake, the URL needs to be accessed in Service Center, not in lifetime.

It works for me in this URL ^

But indeed it is not present in the menu.

Thanks for the updated URL: https://<environmenturl>/servicecenter/DatabaseCatalog_List.aspx

It worked on the on-prem infra, but not on the cloud one. While, the licensing pages shows unlimited Multiple Database catalogs on both types of infrastructure.

Hi Swatantra,

The feature Multiple Database Catalogs is only available for On-Premises environments.

If you have a hybrid infrastructure, this would mean you will have the feature available for the on-premises environments but not for the cloud ones.
