ALTER TABLE issue while publishing OSP
Question

Hi all,

just a easy question:
What could the reason be that my OSP publish failed, because of an ALTER TABLE.

I'm just inserting a new column into a existing table. Yes it's a key to another table, but not mandatory.

Beste Regards,
Jeroen

We found the problem.

In the generated sql scripts to update the database Outsystems Runtime did insert a row in a table.
After that the table kept locked and another ALTER TABLE statement got a time-out.
We restarted the Outsystems Runtime Service and the problem was solved.

Hi Sir, Good day, we encountered the same problem as OP. May we ask, what specific Runtime Service did you restarted? And if ever, what are the possible consequences if we did it on our production server?

Thank you!

Hi,

Ideally it should not an issue of adding a new column. For better understanding, pls share your oml or attach the exact error screenshot.

Hello Jeroen,

Did you change any data type of a field?

Please see this documentation link that can help you understand why you got that error:
