Reading resources slow in foreground, fast in background

Hi,

The issue, described below, has been noticed in a Reactive Web application.

The issue is as follows:

  • there is a server action that reads from Resources an Excel File and processes it
  • the file is very small - just 5 rows
  • when called from the background (timer) it is read and processed below 1 sec
  • but when called from the foreground (screen -> button -> "click" event handler) reading the file takes about 30 seconds

Has anybody met such a case? What can be the reason? The content of this file does not come out of the server action so it seems that the context should be irrelevant...

How does you frontend action work? Does it call a server action or do you process the file in the client only? And if you handle it in a server action, what are the statistics of this action in the Network tab of the browsers console?

Greetings,

Vincent

Hi,

No, I just call the server action. I haven't checked these statistics and now it is too late - I've implemented a workaround (now I don't call the file processing action but wake up a timer that does the same; and it works).
