Coming soon - A new forum experience
Discussion

Hi everyone,

Over the last few months we’ve been working on a new experience for the forum.

We took your ideas and feedback from various workshops, to create a brand new visual, performance, and experience revamp of the forum. We’re in the final stages of testing, and will be launching soon.

I wanted to give you a sneak peek today:

What's new?

  • Improved performance

  • Improved search

  • New look & feel

  • Finding the solution quicker and easier

  • Smoother interactions

  • New post creation page to ensure you add all the details

We'll release the new experience by the end of October, so stay tuned!

Tânia.

Try to add some functionality to remember the User that created the topic to mark an answer as solution, or none of then.

It would be very helpful, for who is answering and for other people who are looking for the solution!

:)

Keep doing the wonderful work and making us (OutSystems Developers) proud of being using it ;)

Looks good. I would still like to see the person who started the topic, somewhere in the overview. (now we only see the last person who reacted)

Over the last couple of months, I was (pretty sure many more were) interviewed a few times for the user experience and to walk through the new visual. The ideas and feedbacks were thoroughly discussed and well-thought of. I am glad to see most of the worthy ideas are picked up. Great effort was put behind by the UX/UI team, making it happen. Kudos you guys!

Hey,

New layout is generally a visual improvement to previous one, thanks!

Further usability suggestions:

  • I'm not too happy about replies being hidden by default, as this prevents me using browser's native search capabilities - text on hidden replies does not get searched until replies are manually expanded.
  • Whitespace around and between posts creates an "airy" feeling, but somehow I get the feeling it's gone overboard - now it's stealing my data density. Same idea with post width - there's about 40% of vertical whitespace on larger desktops, which seems a bit wasteful. Reading too long lines is not fun, but it feels there's room for improvement (pun intended).
