Environment DB Management

Hi All,

I have 2 questions.

1) I have three environments so far(Dev, UAT, and Prod). Now I want to add one more say QA. Does it have to do something with licensing? If so, how can I check and add the environment?

2) I have multiple applications in external dbs. If I am deploying two applications on a server, can I have multiple database connections(each one for each application)?

Hi Abiri,

1. Yes, you have to buy it. It is not for free. You need to request an offer from your OutSystems sales representative.

For more info see:

https://success.outsystems.com/Support/Enterprise_Customers/Licensing/02_Manage_and_Upgrade/02_add_a_new_environment_to_your_infrastructure#:~:text=On%20the%20cloud,implies%20changes%20to%20your%20subscription.

2. Yes, if you mean you have multiple external databases, you can have multiple connections from OutSystems to them. To setup one or more connections to external databases see the following OutSystems documentation:

https://success.outsystems.com/Documentation/11/Extensibility_and_Integration/Integrate_with_an_External_Database

Thanks, Daniel. I very much appreciate for clearing things out :)

Could you share how to add multiple external DBs to a server? I checked about adding DB Catalog. Is it the same as adding DB? If so, will it reflect in my Configuration tool to set up the connection?

Hi, AI updated my original reply to include the additional info you asked.

Thank you, Daniel. That was very helpful. I am still wondering what is the use of the Configuration tool.

Hi Abira,

The configuration tool you use to configure your environments if you have your OutSystems infrastructure installed on premise on your own servers or in your own VPC.
