Hello,  

I have a question regarding the processing of REST call/REST action (Actions created to consume a REST API).

If I create a REST call/REST action to consume a REST API in Outsystems and if I uses this in a client action of my mobile app or my reactive web app, where is this  REST call/REST action processed? On the server like a server action or locally on the device? 

I need to know this because of a security discussion, if the data passes the Outsystems environment or if the data it transferred directly to the from the REST server to the device.

Solution

Hi Daniel!

Your client action will comunicate with the server (OS Platform) calling the server action responsible to invoke the REST Service (Integration).

Like this:

Client App --- > Outsystems Server (Backend) ---> External Service (REST Integration)
