Source Code backup
Question

Hi All,

I have an enterprise license. Now I want a source code backup as per company policy.

1) Is it possible to get source code without detaching the OutSystems?

2) Is detaching means ending Outsystems license?

Solution

Hi Abira,

Here is the official OutSystems documentation on the Detach Process:

https://success.outsystems.com/Support/Archive/11/The_Detach_Process

I think it will answer your question, you can only get the source code when ending the OutSystems License.

Unsubscribing to OutSystems means you stop the contract you have with OutSystems. You need to contact your OutSystems sales representative for that.

Your OutSystems applications data is (meta data) is stored in the database that is automatically backupped.

No need to store a version of the source code, as the source code is only generated from the meta data to generate your application.

Hi Abira,

It is as Daniel says; that gives you the underlying generated code (so yes, that's the answer). To comply to the company policy without the whole detach process, you can also argue that the 'code' consists of the elements you've used in your screens, actions and processes. That's what defines the behavior of your module/app.
