[OutSystems UI Web] Dropdown Select not working as intended

Hi,


We are currently looking into implementing the Dropdown_Select control to replace the Select2 control used in our application. We followed the online documentation (https://success.outsystems.com/Documentation/11/Developing_an_Application/Design_UI/Patterns/Using_Traditional_Web_Patterns/Controls/Dropdown_Select) for implementation.


However, during implementation, we noticed that the outcome is different from what we expected (refer to below screenshot).


The details of our service studio and platform server as below:

  • OutSystems 11 Service Studio (Version: 11.10.5, Build 37061)
  • OutSystems 11 Platform Server (Version 11.9.1, Build 20359)


We have attached a simple oml file for reference. Any help is greatly appreciated as we are stuck now, not knowing what is the cause. Thanks in advance.

Hi Terry,

The issue caused because of the absence of Base Theme in the respective Application Module as shown below.

You can reference the Base Theme from the OutSystemsUIWeb module suing the Manage Dependencies as shown below

And also add the screen layout (e.g. Common\LayoutTopMenu) in the respective POC screen for more structuring of the screen.

Thank you so much for the solution, appreciate it. However, currently we are using Liverpool Theme as the base theme for our client application. Is there any way we can use the Dropdown_Select control without changing the base theme?

I don't have any prior experience using the Liverpool Theme. Other than that the Liverpool Theme refers to SilkUI framework and as per the implementation the used widget references OutSystemsUI framework. In order to make it work, either you will have to copy the related style definition from OutSystemsUI to the respective application theme (or encapsulate in a Web block for re-usability) or else you will have to migrate the SilkUI framework to OutSystemsUI framework.
