Micro Apps in Outsystems
Application Type
Mobile, Reactive
Platform Version
11.11.3 (Build 29602)

I would like to know if there is a tutorial/guideline to develop "Micro Apps" in outsystems.
Something similar to WeChat Min Programs or OutsystemsNow, which allows the user to access a "Supper App" and from there access any "micro app" avaiable inside. However, each "Micro App" is developed independently and then "embedded" on the "Super App".

The open source version of OoutsystemsNow which initially appeared to be a good place to start is no loger supported, and is quite outdated ,so it does not seem like a good option. Futhermore the idea is to have the app avaiable both as a mobile app and a web app.

Can someone give me some pointers to help me to tackle this challenge?

Hi Fernando,

From your screenshot, you're looking to a simple list widget with cards.
As for the data, you can query the table of applications using the entity Application from System alongside with the ApplicationIcon entity to get the icon:

On these two tables you should find the information you need for your UI: title, description, icon and the necessary information for linking to the app or the web application.

You will have to take into account two things though:

  1. Make sure to filter the applications by Application.Is_Active = True, to avoid getting deleted applications;
  2. Filter the type of applications (mobile, web, libraries, etc.) by filtering the attribute Application.ApplicationKind with the values from the static entity RuntimeKind also from System:

Kind Regards,
