Timer optimization
Application Type
Traditional Web

Hi All,

I have the one of timer in my application, it's running about 10 mits to complete, do I really need really care about that interms of performance issue on application level, or since it's asynchronous process we don't need to care about performance?..

If so is there any best way to optimize the timer?

Can anyone clarify it.

Thanks and regards

Performance is always important, also for a timer. The timer takes CPU and memory to execute the more it takes the less is available for other tasks on the front end server where the timer runs.

Also there is a limit on the max timers that run simultaneously, so the longer it takes for your timer to finish, potentially the longer it takes before another scheduled timer can start.
