SQL Express 2008 troubles

Recently I installed SQL Express 2008 on a blank server to work with the beta version of OutSystems platform.
After installing Platform Server, I started up the config tool and received several errors.

and this one as well:

“Cannot connect to SQL-Server-Instance-Name
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2008, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 28 – Server doesn’t support requested protocol) (Microsoft SQL Server)”

Looking around this post helped me fix the problem.

It has to do with the defaults of SLQ Express 2008 not to allow remote connections !!
SQL Express 2005 did allow these remote connections.
It has tp
This can also be used in SQL 2005 Express (that comes with community edition) since, also by default, it doesnt allow remote connections
