Schedule deployment using LifeTime Deployment API
Question

Hi everyone,

I want to configure a scheduled deployment using the LifeTime deployment API . However , I am confused as to where to begin , I have access to the LifetTime deployment API documentation . Where do I invoke the API from  ? Do I have to create a .bat file and is there any specific structure for it ?

Thank you.

Hi,

You can call the API using Postman, or use a postman collection with some scripting and then schedule the collection.

Hi Thizwilondi Malupa,

As all LifeTime Deployment API  are based on REST. You can use and consume them in any platform like PHP, Java, DotNET even you can consume this APIs in OutSystems itself. It all depends where are you more comfortable to use them.

You can also use CI/CD pipeline as well like jenkins and Azure dev ops, for more details you can visit the below link
https://github.com/OutSystems/outsystems-pipeline/wiki/Building-an-OutSystems-pipeline-with-Jenkins

There are few forge component as well for use case which you need to try, I found one so I am sharing this
https://www.outsystems.com/forge/component-overview/1970/automatic-deployment

I did not try any of the solution, But I see all the option are open. I think to start with, you should use the given forge component or any other similar component as it matches your usecase. If it does not solve your problem you can go to implement the life time api from scratch and for that you need to read all the related document and understand properly and finally implement the solution as per your needs.

Hope this helps.

Pankaj
