Import Database structure to Outsystems

Import Database structure to Outsystems

Hello All,

I have an desktop application that I want to do a web version using outsystems.
I know that I may import the database in Integration Studio and then just create a web interface for the already existing database, I 've done that successfully for other apps.

But what I really want, in this case, is to have the tables created directly in the eSpace.
Is there a way to import the structure of a database into an espace, so I don't have to create all tables and fields manually?

It's quite a big database, lot's of tables and lot's of fields in each table.
Automatically I have no idea, you should ask support.

but you do it semi-manually, by exporting your database as excel and
then use the action "import entitiy from excel" in service studio?

this is if you really really want it (say it's an access-database or a database that is being retired)
otherwise I suggest keeping the database and work with it via a xif.
(what is preventing you from using the xif-alternative you are already familiar with)

Hi Nelson,

There is a very easy way to do that.
First import them into integration studio and publish the extension.
In a eSpace reference all the tables in the extension. Select all in the tree and cut.
Then paste in the Entities folder.

You can remove the reference to the extension and delete it from the server after that.
