Can't create database connection to oracle with a service name istead of sid

Hi guys,

I'm facing a problem with J2EE Platform Server 7, I cant add a database connection to a oracle db that has only defined the service name istead of sid, in the tns listener.

As an example, in Database Connection Edit, i fill:
Name: CC
DBMS: Oracle
Host: 10.10.0.1
Port: 1521
SID: rh_service
User: viewer
Password: ***

And I get the string:
jdbc:oracle:thin:viewer/<hidden>@10.10.0.1:1521:rh_service

And it should be:
jdbc:oracle:thin:viewer/<hidden>@10.10.0.1:1521/rh_service

A "/" istead of ":"...

Javascript behind the control of connection string ristricts it and I cant change it manualy...

Anyone got this problem too? Is it a bug?

André Pinela
Hi André,
currently we do have this known limitation of not supporting service names instead of SIDs, yours is a fair point and I've added this to the development backlog

I overtook it, until you guys get a solution, by doing a db link;

Tank you for reply,
