TIP: Using query.count > 0 a lot?

TIP: Using query.count > 0 a lot?

Hi Guys,

I've just got a great tip from Nuno Baptista concerning Queries and the "COUNT" output parameter.
Whenever you use this COUNT parameter actually for every query a second query is executed containing only the count.

This means you would 'stress' the database more when you use a test like IF (query.count > 0)

Instead of the COUNT output parameter you should use the IF (NOT query.list.empty) which disables the 'need' for a rerun of the same query for just the count.

Cheers,

Thanks for the addition Joao; that indeed is a very complete thread on this topic.
