BLOB objects entity attribute

BLOB objects entity attribute

Hi guyz,

I'm new with outsystems. I am developing an application for my work. I have a question about Usage of BLOB object(to store image/audio on a table entity)

I have a table named Change, wich contains Id,Changename,Change-icon

I need to set some colored icons if the status of a object is by example: In progress = green.icon

How can i solve my problem ?

Kind Regards,

Abdulkadir Karapinar
Hello Kadir. Welcome to OutSystems, hope your loving it as much as we do!

You're asking about blob objects and a status icon. Do you intend on having those icons in the database? Is that what your blob object will be used for?

If I was to have a status icon, I would had a static entity with the needed status and have logic in the screen to display the correct icon based on the status.

Cheers
Pedro
Hi Kadir,

First of all, welcome to the OutSystems community.

When you can create your data model, that should include your table "Change", you can add attributes to table using different types. One of the type is a binary data, that will be a blob (Oracle) or image (SQL Server).

Your database entity (table) should look like this:

can i put in this example, a image into the IconSet. The iconset is Binary Data type

the images
Hi Kadir,

You can't use binary data in static entities, but you can write the image name in a text attribute there, and in your screens use a Image widget with type "external".
