Cancel Publishing solution - Service Center

On our radar

It would be nice if we could cancel the publishing solution process on service center.

It would be really useful when doing a publication with the Solution Pack Tool to be actually able to cancel it.
Even better, when cancelling, the changes would be undone :)

When publishing a solution in service center, it should be possible to cancel it. Even better, when canceling undo the changes (publish components).

There should be a way to stop publishing a solution.
Yes, I know this can cause lots of broken references that would need to be fixed by hand, but it would come in handy sometimes.

I think it would be nice to have the possibility to abort on-going solution publish. I don't know if it possible, but it would help a lot of people.

There's a button at the bottom right of the publishing window that appears as soon as you start to publish.  The button is called Stop Publish.  Doesn't that work for this idea?

He's saying Solution on title Curt Raddatz and not espace.

I think that could only be possible if there is a way to rollback the publish of the solution to the previous state. And how can you manage what espaces and extention versions was published before?

If its the first publish of the solution it should be more easy since there is no rollback.
If you change espaces, extentions etc and publish the solution after and cancel, probably they have to save some temporary data from espaces, extentions that was current published before and probably some other metadata so it can rollback.

On Lifetime i dont know if currently this is possible. But it could be implemented there as well.

We can publish solutions using several ways. Using the solution tool, service center, lifetime

Hello Guys,

This idea has been around for a while, but I would love if you could clarify a few points.

Do you wish to be able to *interrupt* the publishing process of a solution? If yes, can you give me a couple of examples where that would be useful for you?

Would you expect / wish that interrupting the solution publish operation rolled back any changes that have already been made in the process? (e.g. solution has eSpaces A, B, C, D - A and B have already been published, you interrupt while C is being published, what would you expect the final result to be? and why?)
