Multiple Search/Find Usages

Find Usages is a great feature that I use often.

One limitation that I find annoying is when one do a second Find/search, the new result will clear the first one....

It would be nice to have multiple find usages, that is, one could do several 'find usages' on different objects and the result would show in different tabs. This way one could do a 'drill down' of usages without lose the first object that begun the search. The side effect is that one could over populate the bottom panel with several tabs.

But I could live with that :)

Most of the time, a search leads to another search and it's unfortunate that I need to lose the results of the first search when I do the second one.
The same applies (probably more even) to Find References. I find where an action is called, and it's in 2 other actions. Then I want to find where the first one is called without losing track of the second.

Therefore, it would be awesome if I could keep open as many search/find reference windows as I please.

Hi,

Same idea as this one.
These should be merged to sum up the likes :)

Cheers,
JA

Hello there,

The search functionality (ctrl+F) in the Service Studio lists results in a tab at the bottom, but when we try another search, it lists the new results in the same tab. This means there is only one fixed search results tab in Service Studio. It would be great if we had at least 3 of them so that we could see different search result lists at the same time; it can sometimes be helpful.

Hey Ozan,

Thanks  a lot for your idea!

We have been working on some improvements to our find capabilities but currently we don't have anything on our short-term roadmap regarding multiple search tabs.

Despite this, let's keep this idea and consider it in the future!

Keep the ideas coming

On Service studio there is only one tab with the search results. When we are searching the usages of an object it would be useful to maintain multiple search results to allow a drill-down of that search

I totally agree with the submitters of this idea, but the status "Not right now" on an idea dating back to 2013! is not very hopeful.
