Make Simple Queries available in version 9 along with Aggregates

Aggregates & Queries
No one have doubts about that aggregates are very powerful but in lot of cases the Simple Queries do the same and are more appropriate.
The main reasons for this idea is this post. And I just passed to an Idea to know how much developers agreed with this so Outsystems can bring back Simple Query since the code is already there.

This. Also, have the possibility to back-convert aggregates into simple queries again. We're currently already on Platform 9, and have 1000s of converted Simple Queries...

Why replace good old Simple Query with this aggregate-cant-see-it-all-at-once-stays-in-full-screen-query ?

I like the aggregate, but there are a couple of things that could be made to improve it:

- a way to see instantly what "input parameters" we are using (we have to go through filters to know);

- a faster way to create joins. On a simple query we just choose the 2 entities and it would imediatly create a join. Now, we have to create it from scratch. I'd like the aggregate to suggest a join immediately after adding a source entity, then we could alter it if that would be the case. Altering a thing is faster than creating it from scratch;

- If the aggregate has zero sources (you are creating a new blank one) it's a pain to add a source. Instead of just allowing us to drag & drop entities, the link "Sources" could be available for us as well;

- In the "sorting" part of the aggregate, sometimes it's a pain to add a column, if there are many entities. You have to search through all the horizontal screen for the column you want. I don't have a specific idea, but please think of something to improve this and make it faster;

- it annoys the hell out of me when i drag and drop 1 entity, I get 5 entities + joins for free..

- the preview of test-data is nice, but it slows my development when i tweak the filters/joins

- copy data is impossible for testing purposes.. (using other emails)

- "group by" will f* up the tablerecords.

Hi Romeu,

Thanks for having submit this feedback. Now after 3 years and 2 OutSystems versions simple queries have been completely replaced by the Aggregates. Aggregates have coming a long way, have been improved since first version. With valuable feedback from our users, they are now more stable a user friendly.

So for this reason I must tag this idea as Out of the scope. Please keep your feedback coming so that we can keep moving on the direction to have a great product for our users.
