If you add a local variable to a page/webblock, please have them automatically sort in alphabetical order.

I deliberately group screen/action variables together by purpose.

You can sort them yourselves, so what would be the advantage?

I would like to have the opposite for screens, web blocks and screen actions. Allow me to move them into any order that I want. I find myself forcing a name of an object to make sure they group together.  A simple example, I like action names to be like getCalculatedVariable() and setCalculatedVariable(), but I have to name it CalcuatedVariable_get() and CalculatedVariable_set().
Just my two cents.

I agree, perhaps a "sort" command in the contect menu, but otherwise have an order by your choosing. @David, please add that Idea, so I can vote it up :).
