Convert Times to User's Timezone in OutSystems web interfaces

Lifetime
On our radar

When you're working on the OS PaaS environment, the time that is displayed when a module is deployed is the server time. I would be nice to have a setting in lifetime where we can set our own timezone so for our company the correct time when an application is deployed is shown.

In some cases we need to check when something was deployed and we need to 'calculate' when it was deployed. Als when people don't know it's a different timezone the will be some communication errors.

It's that small thing that make life easier (-:

It would be great if Lifetime and service center on the cloud environments could show dates using either a set timezone or the users actual timezone. Storing the dates as UTC is the correct way to go but having to translate Today, 8:46 to the actual current time when your UTC+8 gets tedious

Hello,

When working with different timezones - for instance, Portugal and India - it would be helpful if the displayed time for last publish would be automatically converted for my current timezone.

If there is, for instance, a difference of +3 hours, a publish at 1AM would be shown as 4AM on the different timezone.

Thanks,

Armando

Converting from UTC to my time zone on the fly for every date/time hurts my brain.  It would be really nice if OutSystems would convert displayed dates from UTC to my time zone.

For Example, in the error log:

That date/time is UTC. I want it in my local time so I will immediately know if it was just now or an hour ago.

This feature could be done by allowing the user to specify their personal time zone in their user settings. Clicking the display name of the user in the top right hand corner of the browser could take the user to a screen with a drop down where they can select their time zone from a list on this page:

Where the yellow line is, have a drop down for time zone...

Then, whenever outsystems displays a date/time, convert it to the user's time zone automatically.

I really like this idea Andre it surprised me that this isn’t handled by the platform automatically. Competing platforms take care of this, so I don’t have to worry about it. However there should always be an escape, so that you have the option to display it however you like. So maybe turning things around. Instead of using functions to adjust it to the time zone of the user. Display is by default in the users timezone and use a function to display it in any other way.

Feature request: Allow for the hosted platform to display a time zone of the customer's choosing at the platform/server level.  Not everyone uses or wants to see their data in UTC - and it makes it very confusing for users when they look at things that are time stamped in applications. Further - the current implementation requiring some sort of application level conversion across every app in an enterprise doesn't make sense in terms of effort and potential for error
