Support of hierarchyid (SQL Server)

By Johan den Ouden on 25 Oct 2017

SQL Server has the hierarchyid data type to deal with hierarchical data.

It would be a good idea if OutSystems would support this datatype so we can make use of the hierarchical data support of SQL Server.

See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/hierarchical-data-sql-server

I agree, along with the GUID data type I think these are the most requested/wanted datatypes.

although I am not sure how this datatype should be implemented in servicestudio to make it easy for us

(to enter "/1/2/" in the id is a but error prone I think)

Only support it if Oracle and MySQL support it too. The platform has been super consistent about cross-platform compatibility (outside of Server Center configuration like SEO rules, and caching, but nothing breaks on Java if you tell your code to cache queries/actions).
