Add Page Numbers for easy navigation in Error, General kind of pages.

Its difficult to navigate by only next and previous , its would be great if page numbers are added for easy navigation

What do you mean with "Error and "General kind" of pages?

Example : In service center Monitoring--> General page we have only "Previous" and "Next" option to navigate to different pages. 

In addition to this if we can include page number it would be easy to navigate. 

Ex: If i have to navigate to page 10 of general logs , i will have to keep pressing "NEXT" 10 times instead if we have page numbers or drop-down window we can directly select 10th page.

Adding a category to this idea 

For better navigation you can use From and To. By navigating with pagenumbers, the content of the page is not fixed.

To add another opinion to this topic.

While the opinion Matthias makes sense, sometimes we don't know the time where the error/log was written and it can lead to several pages and would be nice to have that pagination on top of all filters.

Hi,

- Go to Service Center 

- Go To Monitoring

- Go to Integrations

Here you will notice that pagination is not applied properly.

I can click on next and previous but it doesn't tell me on which page I am.

So it would be nice to have pagination inside this.

Hi Andre,

This is required when I am setting my web services logging level to Full. In 10 minutes I am making 100 calls to web service and for the review I had to store request and response of web services. So in one hour I have 600 records out of that 80 are failed. So when I am navigating to the error page I am not sure on what page number I am. Also when I click on detail of log and clicks on back button, again I start seeing logs from the first page. So imagin if error was in 45 page, I would again have to click on next button for 45 times.

Wouldn't the filters be a better option for that?

Though I use filters and if I am on page no 12 and click on detail of any log and again come back to list view, it will start showing logs from first page and again I will have to click on next link for 12 times to go there.

Hi Joao,

Thanks for the suggestion thas is what currently I am doing but I have some junior members in my team and they are not much comfortable with service center logs. Also we are tracking some complex web services and we are losing the focus every time we are checking logs because in every 10 mins around 600 logs gets generated and with juniors it is bit difficult.

I am looking for solution something like this.

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I’m marking this as “on our radar” since we think this is could be improved.

This isn’t currently on our roadmap but we’ll keep an eye here if this idea continues to grow and get comments from all of you.

Was just going through some logs in service center, and there is no pagination(with numbers) . Just 'previous ' and 'next' options. It's a bit tedious if there are a lot of records or if you are after something not very recent. 


Proper pagination with numbers as well as a jump to page number directly would be very useful.

For one, there are typically a lot of pages. So determining the count (which is needed for the pagination to work) has a lot of performance impact. Secondly, you'd never show more than 5 page numbers at a time, and in my experience, 5 pages worth of logging is like half an hour tops. If you want to find something "not very recent", you almost always need to filter anyway.

It is not just about the logs. I've noticed it in timers and other options as well.


Adding a pagination would certainly help in most cases.
