Mobile - Support "Replace" parameter on Destination widgets

Frontend
New

Hi,

To support complex and non-standard navigation patterns, it would be handy to have in the Destination widget an option like the "Replace" parameter of the navigateTo method:

Indicates if the navigation should replace the current history entry, instead of creating a new one that the user can navigate back to.

The same could apply to Links when navigating to screens.

What do you think?

Thanks,

Renato

Hi Renato,

Thanks for the idea.

I'm not quite sure I understood the idea (when applied to a mobile context). Can you please provide a concrete example where this could be useful?

Regards,

Ricardo Alves

Hi Ricardo,

I had this need in the following situation:

  1. Mobile app with a bottom bar
  2. We needed to be able to click the icons, which would navigate to specific pages
  3. We didn't want the pages to stay in the history of pages navigated

Without a Destination widget to support it, we implemented the solution using the navigateTo javascript function, which contains a parameter to replace the history:

If I can provide any additional info please let me know.

Cheers,

Renato
