using solution as base in service studio

By J. on 11 Aug 2010
Like visual studio, I want to see the solution in my service studio.
Instead of having multiple service studios open for each espace.

Not to mention, you will publish an osp instead of an espace.
so you don't have to go to service-center to create a new version of your solution.

Considering that architecturally, most scalability choices for an Outsystems project requires the creation of multiple eSpaces, the platform should allow the creation of an Outsystems solution that groups more than one eSpace and provides a single deployment/run enviornment with automatically updated references within the scope of the given solution.

Totally agree on this one. I was just thinking how 5.1 is great, but as i thought that, i also notice that the size of my eSpace was getting bigger and began thinking on splitting my oml....

So this solution development environment could be something that worked with several files, and in the end generated a single osp file.

All the single eSpace features would be there, and this environment would only load the eSpaces that we were working on (that way only the necessary memory would be loaded)....

I would see it like a single window environment (multi-window just makes it more confusing), but you wouldn't have to "reference" entities to see them in your eSpace. The reference would be automatically created when you used it in a different eSpace.

Also, naturally, there could be a tree node for each eSpace on the right side

I'm guessing you mean you can have an solution in service studio?

otherwise, like this idea :)

Yes, similar to VS 2008 in what concerns seeing it all in one development environment. Memory management would be somewhat centralized.
