In Service Studio, in the applications tab, keep the search keyword as a 'session variable'

Hi everyone!

It would be really nice if the search keyword is kept like a session variable, because after you have clicked in an application to go to that application details, when you return to the applications list, the previous search keyword is lost.

Merged this idea with 'Remember the search filter in application search' (created on 17 Dec 2018 05:44:25 by John Williams)

The search filter on application names in Service Studio is great but it would be even better if this was remembered when you went into and then back out of the application. We have hundreds of applications and sometimes need to search through a couple before finding the one we need and it gets annoying to have to retype the search each time.

Merged this idea with '[Service Studio - O10] Application List - keep searched keyword' (created on 19 Dec 2018 15:46:03 by António Pereira)

When using the "Search Applications..." input to find apps with similar name, after clicking on an app the entered search keyword is not kept in the input. Often we end up having to write the same search keyword.

This is a pattern used regularly in an app (using the session var) and would be useful here too.

My suggestion is when returning to the applications list keep the entered search keyword and to focus it so it is easy to replace (in case the user wants to search for another keyword).

Cheers :)

Hey Tiago,

You're right! I was on vacations so I hadn't marked the idea as implemented yet.

Thanks for your contribution and, as always, you can find a public thank you in our product release notes:

https://success.outsystems.com/Support/Release_Notes/11/Development_Environment/Development_Environment_Release_14

Cheers,

It's partially implemented.

The value is indeed kept, but when you return to the applications screens, the value isn't visible in the search box, but it's taken into account behind the scenes.

Using version 11.8.3.

Can this also be fixed?

Hi Kurt,

I do believe that's already been fixed in a more recent version. I'm using SS Beta and I do see the value in the text box when I return to the applications screen.

Maybe, you just need to update you Service Studio to have the fix in place.

Hope it helps.

Cheers!
