Hi Team,

We have like and unlike option in the forum. There is no issue if someone dislikes someone's solution or post but how is that person going to know why it is disliked?

if this option has transparency, we can ask that particular person for the feedback what's the issue with their solution or post.

Regards,

Pankaj Pant

Hi Pankaj,

We are not planning on delivering this in the near future.

the idea didn't have the expected engagement in terms of likes and comments, and we are currently with other priorities. Because of this, I’m marking this idea as “not right now”.

Cheers

Merged this idea with 'Implementing the functionality to show the list of people who like or dislike a comment on a forum ' (created on 21 Jun 2023 09:55:28 by Alka Asnani)

Need-

Implementing the functionality to show the list of people who like or dislike a comment on a forum in OutSystems can be a useful feature, as it provides social engagement and feedback to the users. It allows users to see who is interacting with their comments and provides a sense of community.

Benefits-

User engagement and feedback

Personalized content

User Recognition

* From comment i mean the answer that we post on a question asked.

Merged this idea with 'See who liked your message ' (created on 25 Oct 2023 10:23:32 by João Pais)

Currently we can see that number of people liked/unliked your message on forum.

Why can't we see who liked the message with cursor on hover? At least the author of the message could have that information.

Merged this idea with 'View option for Vote and Downvote' (created on 09 Jan 2024 07:01:25 by Wasim Khan)

Hi Experts,

It would be better if we have an option to see who likes and dislikes our comments in Forum. As voting and downvoting are increasing and decreasing our forum points. Even the answers are valuable and we are getting downvotes unnecessarily and vice versa. So we can have a track of who is trying to manipulate.

Before you post an idea please check if it already was posted in the past.

I think I have merged this idea so many times.

OutSystems will not implement it.

If you feel you are consistently voted down, you can reach out to one of the MVPs that are moderators on the forum, and they will look at it and if needed ask OutSystems to investigate.

I will merge this idea.

Hello,

On Forums when we submit our answers people can like and dislike the comment. But we don't get to know who did the like and dislike. So it will be great if we can see that. as I think there are people on forums who are disliking comments for no reason. Also, it will maintain transparency.

Thanks,

Neha

Hello Neha,

Please search the Ideas page for similar idea posted in the past. This idea has been posted multiple times, and I keep merging it.

Merged this idea with 'Enhancing Forum Engagement: Mandatory Comments for Dislikes' (created on 05 Dec 2024 08:50:03 by Murali Manoharan V)

It would be great to implement a mandatory option for providing comments when disliking a post's comment in the forums. This will encourage constructive feedback and prevent unwarranted negativity. For instance, I noticed a post where a community member provided a correct answer, yet it received a dislike without any explanation. Adding this feature would foster transparency and help build a stronger, more supportive community.

Hi Murali,

That is a long and discussion, this idea is already posted in 2018, and there are several reasons why OutSystems will not implement this. Here is the old idea, I will need to merge yours into it.

https://www.outsystems.com/ideas/5479/like-and-unlike-should-not-be-anonymous-in-forum-post/

In generally a dislike is valid in a few situations:

  • the reply is not on topic
  • the reply has incorrect information
  • the reply context or tone of voice is not in line with the community guidelines
  • the reply is on-person and not on-topic
  • the reply repeats what already has been shared by others in the same discussion
  • the reply is a copy/pasted AI generated reply that is so generic that it is not perse incorrect, but it is also not a solution

If you feel a dislike is not in place, then ask why you got a dislike.

It happened a few times, that a community member was consistently given dislikes to some other community members, if you feel you get unnecessary sequence of dislikes you can contact one of the forum moderators (MVP) in private chat, and we will look into it together with OutSystems.

But I believe in, generally the systems works well.

Regards,

Daniel
