Different Icons for P10 and P11

Service Studio

When P10 was released, the icons for Service and Integration Studios were different for P10 and P11.

It would be nice to have different icons for P10 and P11 now as well to help us visually distinguish between versions of the IDE running on our computers.

Hi Hanno,

We understand the need, but right now we have no plans to do this for 11 specifically. There's some cool stuff on our pipeline regarding running different versions of Service Studio in your machine, but we'll announce it later.

In the meantime a possible workaround is to change the shortcut icon (e.g. shift+right-click on the icon on the windows taskbar while Service Studio is closed, select properties, select change icon) and get creative.

Hi.

When we have multiple version of Service Studio installed, because the icon is the same, it is really difficult to recognize the version that you want to open. It could be a good idea to add the version number to the icon.

I like your idea, Jorge. I felt the same way (https://www.outsystems.com/ideas/5495/Different+Icons+for+P10+and+P11?IsFromAdvancedSearch=True) but it won't happen soon, unfortunately.

As an OutSystems Partner we serve several clients. Not all clients are directly updated to newer version. Service Studio and Integration Studio have the same icons independant of the version.

At this moment I create my own icons to differentiate between the versions on my computer, but it would be nice if the application icons have their version incorporated in the icon, so we can see which version is which (within for instance the windows start screen)

Hi,

Many times I open SS10 when I want to open SS11 and vice-versa, just because it's the same icon. Same with Integration Studio.

I think that it's a good ideia to change SS11 to a new one (like SS9 is different than 10). It's more practical.
