Service Studio

In lastest OS version (10.0.815) we saw that there are a new area with the recently opened modules in our environment. Could be nice if we have the hability to pick eSpaces as bookmark and look at them in a new separator next to Recent Modules :)

Bookmarks list:

Application (the star define what is set as bookmark or not):

Thanks for the idea, Cesar!

The majority of developers spend most of their time with less than 5 modules, so having the recent modules will provide them all the modules they need. Because of this, we don't have plans to solve this in the near future.

Keep the ideas coming!

At the left side of Servicestudio there is a Recent Modules list.

Is it possible to create also a favorites Modules list and also the possibility to mark apps as favorite.

Something like the Pin to Start in Windows; Pin Application or Module to Favorites.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor windows pin to start

I mean Module to favorites.
We are working in a lot of different modules at the same time, we also do the testing for other teams in their modules.
So the recent modules are fine, but if you want to go quickly to your own modules for developing, this recent modules option is not working and we have to click a lot to open the right module again.
I thought maybe if there is an option to have a pin to favorite for modules and show them for example above or beneath the recent modules

I think something went wrong, I wrote a comment, but it's gone.... (Or I cannot see it)
No I mean a favorite Modules list, where you can add/pin modules that you are working on at the moment for quick navigation. We work in a lot of diifferent application (also testing eachothers apps)at the same time (sprint), so the recent modules list is not working in this case. If you can deside to pin some modules to a favorites list, it reduces a lot of time / clicks  at our side.

Add an option to each module to be favorite, the ones that have that option selected appear when openning the list from recentely opened modules. See the example:

In the Service Studio dashboard, it would be cool if we could PIN some applications/modules to the left side bar instead of just have the last 5 opened modules.

Merged this idea with 'Ability to Pin Applications in Service Studio' (created on 20 Mar 2020 01:36:09 by Sunil .)

We have hundreds of applications in our factory environment but each team is responsible for maintaining only a handful of them. These applications are what I as a Developer is interested in and everything else is just noise which needs to be filtered out everytime I have to change something.

It'd be save me a lot of time if I had the ability to Pin these applications to the top of service studio so I don't have search for these apps hundreds of time daily.

Have you tried using "Users teams" in Lifetime?

You can group users per applications and choose specific roles for each user on team.

If the standard role for all developers only allows opening and debugging, as a team you can leave the role to allow for change and deployment. In the developers' Service Studio, only the applications for which they are allowed appear.

I hope help.

The status of this idea can be set to out of scope as you do this using LifeTime teams, roles and.oermissions.

Teams and pinning don't address the same use case... in no small part because teams are an organizational tool, and controlled by the organization, and pinning is a preference of the individual developer.

Yes I know but he mentioned pinning as limiting the view of applications to those that are teams responsible only, and that you can do with Teams.

Ok I am convinced the idea is different and status should not be out of scope

Merged this idea with 'Bookmark or Make Favorites Tab ' (created on 28 Mar 2022 12:28:01 by Vijay r)

In service studio , While Opening modules or application It is hard  and difficult to to find & open some modules or application. So If we can pin or bookmark  modules or application as Favorites it would be helpful to open it quickly.

There can be some pinned or bookmarked Modules or application at the top Then followed by the application in service studio.

Note : This tab doesn't show the recent one instead it should show the pinned or favorite Module or application.

Hello Comunity!

Usually we have to work with a lot of modules making it difficult to always be clicking the "Open from Environment" > Searching > opening selected module.

Recent modules is very useful but in most cases not very helpful so I would like to suggest having a section for Favorite modules such as in this example:

When hovering favorites arrow it would open a new popover that would display a list similar to the recent modules one.

In alternative favorite modules or pinned modules could appear on top of recents but I believe it would make a bigger list and it's not very user friendly.

This would save us a lot of clicks comparing to what exists now.

Best Regards,

Carolina Oliveira

Great Idea, maybe a configuration to pin a specific number of those favorites to the list below.

Currently, we have the 10 last accessed modules, maybe the top 5 are favorite modules and the bottom 5 are the last accessed.
