Using Wallet for external database connection to Oracle cloud database

Using a wallet is a simple way to connect securely to an Oracle database (in the Oracle cloud). The way Oracle Sql-developer makes this connection is a good example on how simple the definition of such a connection is. Just the upload of a configuration-file defines all necessary definitions for the connection.

I would like to have the possibility to use this wallet-construction in Service Center when I define a database connection to an Oracle database.

And, with this option, there is no need to built a dedicated VPN-construction between an Outystems-(PAAS-)environment and the Oracle-(Cloud-)database.

Hi, this is already possible by using the Factory configuration tool, we have done this before at a PAAS customer.

Hi Daniël,

thank you for your reaction.
It's nice if this works in non-personal environments and will be very handy.
It saves the setup of a dedicated VPN.

I was looking for a solution in my personal environment, so I can do some trials.

Kind regards,

Hi Daniël & other Outsystems users on Oracle,

The solution by using the factory configuration tool in the PAAS isn't working anymore after the last platform upgrade.
I think this idea has become more important now and can be a good solution for customers that use the Oracle wallet in combination with the factory configuration tool.
And this solution wil be simple.

Kind regards,
