Make Development Studio multi-lingual

Service Studio

Currently the Development Studio (Service Studio and Integration Studio) is English only. There are a lot of communities that have a less than working knowledge of English (e.g. Brazil, Japan, China). It would be great if OutSystems offered localized versions of Development Studio (or at least Service Studio) so developers can enjoy it in their native language.

With the growth of OutSystems technology reaching more and more different countries, one seems to be China. Since Chinese is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, one would make a Chinese version of the platform.

I would like to extend this idea to multi-lingual, next to English and Chinese, you can think of Japanese, arab, Dutch, Portuguese, and so on.

Even better would be to open up the translation of Service Studio to the public and everybody can provide it's own translation.

Indeed. (Written) Chinese may be the largest language in the world, it's not the largest market for OS. I think a Brazilian Portuguese version and a Japanese version would be more important. Anyways, Service Studio should indeed be multi-lingual.

At first sight I agree with the idea, but I think that will bring more problems than solutions. After that becames more difficult to mantain the forum in only one language (english). Because every one will report the post in it's one language....

Hi Miguel,

Apologies for the merge without notice. The backstory is that we had a discussion amongst MVPs about multi-lingual Service Studio, and saw your Idea pertaining only to Chinese. So I decided to create a broader version of the Idea and merge yours into it, as even MVPs can't edit an existing Idea.

I don't see there's a big chance this Idea is ever going to be implemented though, so I don't think you'll miss a "implemented Idea" badge :).

With the documentation portal already available in Japaneese, don't wonder if the development environments and management platforms also become available in other language. Multi-lingual is the need for futher growth and reach.
