Manage ventilators issues across hospitals

COVID-19
Implemented
on 24 Mar 2020

Hospitals will start having issues with ventilators during this high usage times that are approaching. After doing shifts for more than 48 hours it won't be easy for medical and technical staff to properly troubleshoot the cause.

For instance, sometimes ventilators stop working and the problem is the UPS. What needs to be done is simply connect the ventilator to the energy outlet rather than the UPS.

The purpose of this system will be to allow technical staff to submit issues with ventilators (by brand and model) and have specialists indicating possible solutions.

Seems serious work are in place, hospital would need some control over these equipments.

Great idea.

This project has been selected by the COVID-19 Community Response Program!

Based in France, I can help roll out there.  Can help translate & accelerate roll out.

-You already built up a FAQ dbase about these kinds of issues?

-Will this know-how problem be a persistent one?

Regards

Philippe

Congratulations on the idea. And for being accepted. I like to see our community committed to looking for solutions to help fight this pandemic. It is at this point that people should reflect on why they sometimes seek war, when in fact we succeed in uniting the entire world.

Hi,

Thank you for the support! I'm happy to say that we were able to gather some people these last few days and pushed hard to get to a point where we're very close to start promoting usage of vent2life.

Philippe, answering your questions:

  • People involved in the project have already compiled a list of hospitals with equipment that need to be repaired and a list of companies and specialized technicians in this industry. The plan is to announce it publicly and have medical entities spreading the word.
  • In regard to the know-how problem being a persistent one, that I do not know. Right now the priority is towards getting into shape an high number of equipment that surely will be needed in the upcoming days. On that matter we are already aware that, at least in Portugal, there are many in this situation.

I'll keep you posted on how it's going as well as any help we might need from the OutSystems Community!

Regards,

Ricardo Neto

Congratulations Ricardo.

The project has been implemented! Congratulations team!

You can check it out at http://vent2life.pt/

Amazing, its great to collect all damaged equipment and  repair it.

This kind of thinking would be spread all around the globe so others can do the same for their countries in need!

Congrats!

It is a great idea. I want to help some engineers to produce ventilators. At the same time, we want to help them by using this app.

We can help that this app  can be used in our country, Indonesia. We can translate it.

 Thanks and Congrats.

In our country , we use different ID (not NIF) in registration. Can you change this ? because we use 16 digits for national ID. Thanks.

Hi Tan Gwan An,

The NIF is required to ensure the same person only registers once. While it is applicable to our country, I understand it will create problems for usages other than Portugal.

I'll work with the team to prevent this check from occurring when the user comes from another country.

Thanks!

Great. Many thanks.
