I just realized I totally ignored the pitch format... So here goes:
1) Idea pitch: Explain what you want to achieve and the expected impact. This should be 1 paragraph at most.
This website would aggregate relevant information about the pandemic in Portugal. Most people currently have to navigate through a lot of complicated websites to get their updated stats and news, often more than two or three websites. This aggregator would join all that information in a single easy to remember, easy to use and easy to share URL. Further expanding it with a dedicated app would allow us to beam said information to the users directly, even helping reduce anxiety levels generated by the constant refreshing of a stats page in a situation like this.
2) What you can offer: Do you just have just an idea, or do you have the knowledge and time to code, or even a team ready to go?
The idea is pretty simple, so we can make it work quite quickly (it's even already running).
3) What you need to succeed: What kind of team do you need to make the idea a success? Think tech skills and subject matter expertise. Any additional things OutSystems can do for you?
Me and my associates have worked with Outsystems for 11+ years each, I think we have the technical knowledge to get this up and running :)
If I could choose one skill we're missing, and that is very important when developing something with the goal of being fast, simple, useful and providing a meaningful experience, it would be the insight of a UI/UX expert.
The current running version is not storing historical data and does not allow users to sign in to prevent it from going past the free cloud limits, so an enterprise license would probably help open up a few evolution possibilities.
The goal of this is to be simple in order to be shared by everyone very easily, so we would need a dedicated domain for the app. I sort of got past this with my own domain, but apparently there are some issues with a few devices running the reactive apps inside an iFrame... and currently I have no way to get around that.
4) Additional thoughts: If there’s anything else important that you need us and the community to know, you can put that at the end.
This idea is very simple, very fast to implement, and is usable by most of the population. It can evolve into many things from the original concept.
Due to it's general interest nature, if it becomes a central point where users go get their info and keep themselves updated, it can even be used to link/integrate other ideas being implemented within this initiative.
Sometimes simple ideas can have a huge impact :)
