COVID-19

An italian hospital ran out of valves and a company 3d printed the valves:

My proposal is an app to crowd-source this kind of effort:

- Administrators are responsible for registering and validating the registration of legitimate entities with legitimate needs
- Entities make requests

- The public provides solutions

This can be implemented by a small team in a very short time and can help save lives.

Most people want to help and don't know how, let's give people that chance to contribute.

I came here to post the same idea after I saw the same article so:  thumbs up!

If you want we can already start working on this and share it on Forge.

Hi all!

We've identified a number of suggestions similar to this and are setting up a workgroup to make this happen.

Agree, in the US hospitals are having trouble getting all of the masks, face shields, and gowns they need. Companies are stepping up to produce more in their factories, or hand over warehouse supply of these things but don't always know who is in most need.

Additionally, I've seen hospitals say they can't get through on some of the federal hotlines to request these things.

Social media is sharing fabric mask sewing templates, and sewing groups are producing masks without knowing for sure who is most in need. This app could connect all of the needs with supply.

I have been a part of Non-Profit-Organization, and the way things it works is, these NGOs are associated with hospital. once they get know about a specific need, they escalate to the small network, Basically those small networks are built on be-registered-and-get-notified paradigm. In specific Blood donation needs works that way. The article mentioned by @flpmorais looks like the next most vital need will be the availability of oxygen and if that can be crowd-sourced will be very innovative.
