Wiki-like documentation

By Fernando Sousa on 11 May 2010

I think that it would be great if the OutSystems Comunity could edit the Online Help, complementing it with more examples or more detail.

In my opinion, the available documentation is many times unclear or incomplete, and sometimes when I try to understand some feature or function I end up with the same questions.

I end up having to make some tests to know exactly how that feature or function behaves and if it works as I'd like it to.

As an example, check out the documentation at php.net, where users can post notes, examples, clarifications, etc.

Create proper documentation for the platform components and options.

Most of the components (even some embeded with the platform) don't have any documentation on how to use and what are the available options.

System entities don't even have descriptions!

The online help really is a weak point of this platform and I think could be improved with this suggestion.

I think this would be solved by this other idea:

This will also keep the posting in the TechCenter on a lower level.

First off, before I add to the request, let me say: the online Developer tracks are very good.

But, yes, written docs could use some additional effort.  In the form of a Wiki, or a more fleshed out Help file, or whatever is the most cost effective.

One example: there is no written documentation on the syntax needed for coding conditions and results for the IF Widget.   That's a fundamental topic that needs documentation.

Thank you.

If people are still interested in a wiki within outsystems.
I have implemented a version (look for wikisystems in the forge)
, I could create a new "account" to host the wiki for this specific usage?
