So why should healthcare organizations personalize their care and, in turn, their digital strategy? Changing to a personalized patient-centric approach leads to better business outcomes.
Creating a personalized approach to value-based care is the only real way to drive value both for the patient, but also for the provider, but it comes at a cost. Personalized healthcare is much more than just creating a patient self-service mobile app. It’s about understanding the context of a person’s daily life; for instance, how can you engage with consumers using AI to predict health issues based on activity patterns, eating habits, sleep cycles, etc.
Contextual considerations should be taken into account when creating a personalized approach to medical care such as demographics, socio-economics, clinical profile, generational issues, and concerns, etc. All of these data points must be consumed and made sense of to offer consumers the most personalized care experience, and having the ability to ingest this data and make sense of it will be a fundamental part of any CIO’s strategy for value-based care.
