Reactive UI Development 101

This course will get you introduced to Reactive UI Development in OutSystems. With this introductory course you will be able to know the basics on how to create your first Screens, using some OutSystems built-in widgets.

What will you learn?

You’ll learn how to create Reactive Web Screens and understand how they work and which elements they can have. You will also be able to see how to use some OutSystems widgets, such as Expressions, Ifs, Links, Buttons and Containers through a sequence of demos.

What do you need?

You will need access to an OutSystems 11 server (or Personal Environment) and have the OutSystems Development environment tools installed:

  • Download the Windows-only version here
  • Cross-platform is available for Windows and macOS

The example in "Demo: How to Use a Link and Button Widgets" lesson is not educational, because it learns a bad practice of reloading the screen with a button. You just never use it like this in professional development. The better way to present this would be to perform additions (just overwrite parameter value) inside client action handler since you present passing the parameters into the redirected screen through the second button anyway.
