New pattern to detect in AI Mentor Studio: calling REST/SOAP from Service Action
Created on 20 Feb 2024
Daniël Kuhlmann

This idea is about adding the detection a pattern of developers calling a REST or SOAP api method from a Service Action. REST / SOAP services are already a loosely coupled services, and there is no need to wrap them in a Service Action, which only results in two times the latency, without any additional benefit.

There are people in the OutSystems community that regularly produce high quality content (forge assets, ideas, forum posts, etc.). It would be nice to have an option to follow community members so that I can get notified when that person posts / uploads / etc.

Service Studio - Allow search on Forge components update
Created on 11 Feb 2019
João Sousa
24
As a Developer/Factory Manager I would like to have search capability on the Forge Updates functionality.I might not want to install all updates, for example, the component was updated on my environment and the new features are not yet available on the new version from the Forge, or the updates have to be prioritized because of dependencies. When you have lots of update to perform, the scroll bar is not enough.I would like to be able to search by name.

Invoke a webblock action from a screen (with output arguments)
Created on 11 May 2010

This would allow to have isolation on the webblocks and have the screens coordinate several sections of the page, all in the same transaction. Ex: The screen manages a person, and we have a webblock responsible for saving the address section, another the contacts, and another the general detail. The button Save on the Screen would call all the Saves in the webblocks. This would increase reusability a lot.

Indicator for components from the Forge
Created on 11 Jul 2024

I would like to suggest implementing a visual indicator in both Service Studio and Service Center that clearly identifies if it's a Forge component from OutSystems Forge. That would facilitate the visualization of components made by the factory and external ones..

Add Direction attribute to Locale's static entity
Created on 24 Feb 2021
Paulo Zacarias
21
Would it make sense to add a new Direction attribute to the built-in Locale static entity? This is particularly useful for languages that require the usage of RTL direction on the UI.Example: Arabic language - a possible workaround is to check if the locale's language is equal to AR (Arabic), if so, the RTL direction is applied through CSS.With that Direction attribute present on the Locale's entity we would avoid any type of hardcode checks.

Table Column hiding and reordering dynamically
Created on 07 Sep 2025

Dear Team, I would like to propose an enhancement to the current table functionality. Similar to the features available in DataGrid, it would be beneficial to introduce the ability to: Reorder table columns. Hide or unhide specific columns as required. These capabilities are particularly important in reconciliation processes, where users often need flexibility to customize views for efficient comparison and analysis. I believe this improvement would significantly enhance usability and provide a more seamless user experience. Thank you for your consideration.
