Lunar Challenge is a multiplayer team-building and decision-making game based on NASA’s classic Survival on the Moon exercise.

Designed as an interactive OutSystems app, it helps groups practice communication, collaboration, and consensus-building through an engaging space-themed experience.

🚀 Overview

Your crew has made an emergency landing on the Moon, far from the mother ship.

Only a handful of survival items remain intact — and it’s up to your team to decide which ones are most important for reaching safety.

Players must first rank items individually, then work together as a crew to agree on a shared prioritization.

At the end, the results are compared with the official NASA expert ranking, showing how close the group came to the ideal survival strategy.

🧩 Game Flow

  1. Join or Create a Base

    • One player acts as the Host (Mission Commander) and creates a Base.

    • Other players join using the Base Code.

  2. Individual Phase

    • Each player ranks the survival items privately.

    • The goal: decide which items are most critical for survival on the Moon.

  3. Crew Phase

    • The group discusses and agrees on a single shared ranking.

    • Communication and reasoning are essential — phases do not advance automatically.

  4. Results & Debrief

    • The app calculates each player’s and the crew’s performance.

    • Final rankings are compared to NASA’s expert list, showing how close the team came to survival.
