Details
Chat messaging example application with group and direct (user-to-user) messaging. It includes self-registration using OutSystems User Management. Users can create and manage groups, using built-in users for membership.

A few things not obvious from the screen shots provided

  1. You must be registered, or logged in, in order to use the application. A screen is provided that allows users to register. All users and groups are referenced to the OutSystems User Management module.
  2. This application uses a simple JavaScript block to update or poll for new messages.
  3. Implements "ChatMessage" UI pattern with widget, using custom date formatting.
  4. Implements "ScrollableArea" Interaction UI pattern with widget, and scrolls to current message on the bottom.
