VirusTotal is a free service that analyzes files and URLs for viruses, worms, trojans and other kinds of malicious content.

Uses the v2 API Version - may soon be discontinued

The VirusTotal API lets you upload and scan files or URLs, access finished scan reports and make automatic comments.

In order to use the API you must sign up to VirusTotal Community. Once you have a valid VirusTotal Community account you will find your personal API key in your personal settings section. Fill in this key in the VirusTotalAPIKey site-property.
