Case Management framework

The Case Management framework accelerates the creation of custom-fit business process and case management apps, by extending the capabilities provided by Business Process Technology (BPT).

This framework includes actions that help you add functionalities to your case management app, such as:

  • Process audit - Keep track of process transactions during the entire life cycle of a case.

  • Delegation - Allow end-users to manage delegations and absence periods. Include services and logic bundled for activities to have delegations into consideration.

  • Access Control - Keep track, and control, access to all case instances that are or were once associated with a certain end-user or group.

  • Service-level agreement (SLA) management - Configure specific SLA for process and activities taking into account specific calendars.

  • Bugs
    • From now on, service actions used to fetch data for cases and activities can only be accessed by registered users. Otherwise, an exception is thrown;

    • Review all associated activity server actions that could be executed under delegation. Some situations when the delegation was in the context of a specific group and user could fail;

    • Fixed an issue of the Calendar_GetEndDate server action of CM_WorkingDays_CS module which could return null when a non-working day was passed as the start date;

    • Fixed an issue with Activity_CalculateAndSetDueDate server action which could calculate a wrong DueDate.

Case Management framework is a great component from Outsystems team. It provides workflow automation that is much more exhaustive than the BPT solution. Good documentation from the team as well.

The case management framework is - for me - a huge time saver. Besides the fact, that it is easy to create case flows, it is also highly flexible to even build the most complex scenarios. There is still room for some additional and more complete documentation :-) Some parts of the framework are hard to figure out without an example or documentation.
