The tool is primarily meant to provide an example of how to get this information, so feel free to modify it to meet your needs. In your case, if you have a large number of log records, you could limit the queries by date, and only show the last month, for example, or even include a Start and End date so that you could look at usage over a certain period.

Another option would be to use the basic queries on a timer to save the data daily or weekly in a historical entity, then query the entity for the reports.
