Hi All,
The traditional web version of this component doesn't get alot of attention after many of us moved to Reactive (and now ODC) over the last 7ish years. Wanted to check how many of you are still supporting/maintaining/enhancing Trad Web apps that are leveraging this component and whether we should look to give it a bit of refresh or we should "let it retire from service".
If you are still using could you drop a note in the comments or if you prefer send me/the team a direct message
Thanks Paul
Hallo @Paul Davies
The Microsoft Login Connector for Traditional Web is still useful for legacy apps, but its relevance is declining as most projects move to Reactive Web or ODC.
🔹 If you're still using it:
Use the latest version (6.0.8) for security and compatibility.
Ensure the OAuth flow is securely implemented.
🔹 For new projects:
Use the Reactive Web connector, which is actively maintained and future-ready.
📌 Recommendation: Keep the Traditional version minimally maintained (critical fixes, platform updates), and focus development on Reactive and ODC.
Adel,
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Are you still running legacy Trad Web applications?
Also to clarify, the team on this component won't be developing a version for ODC. ODC already has support for OpenId. If you would like to know more it is covered in this course https://learn.outsystems.com/training/journeys/authentication-and-authorization-odc-2648
Thanks
Paul
